Rumble Kong League is a 3v3 basketball game, that combines the thrill of hoops with the excitement of web3. In the game, players can choose their team based on the digital collectibles (KONGS) they own, rent from other owners, or simply use a generic casual bot player.
Players control a team of 3, hooping against opponents with a mixture of special abilities, playstyles, consumables and most importantly, strategy and skill.
Action Buttons: Buttons that give players direct control over what their Kongs are doing.
Offense: The team with possession of the ball tries to score by passing, sprinting, shooting, and playing offensive special abilities against the opposing team.
Defense: The team without possession of the ball tries to steal, block shots, and play defensive special abilities against the opposing team.
On Fire Mode: Both teams have a streak energy bar that charges up with every successful move they make, which activates automatically when full, lighting your team on fire, to give your entire team a buff.
Special Abilities: Special over-the-top moves unlocked through gameplay, which can turn the tide of the game in your favor with the likes of tackles, superdunks, bubble shields & many awesome special moves.
Game Conditions: Split into 2 halves, the game continues until the timer runs out. Games are currently 2.5 minute halves (5 minutes) but this may change after testing feedback.
Boosts are native to each digital player collectible (Kong) and are used in pretty much every calculation that is made by the game. From the ease of dropping a bucket to the chance of resisting a steal, to affecting the decisions taken by the AI, Boosts are woven throughout the entire game.
To overly simplify:
Defense – blocks, steals, tackles
Finish – dunks/layups, move speed
Shooting – shooting distance, shooting accuracy
Vision – passing, jump ball, resisting defense
Depending on the action, higher Boosts either increase the chance that something will happen, or they will make skill-based actions easier to complete.
Multiplayer gameplay will initially be asynchronous, and playable on both Android and iOS devices. Players will be able to challenge their friend's teams, battling out for greatness on the basketball court. Multiplayer gameplay will eventually be synchronous, including in our immersive Athlos city world. More details will be released in the future regarding multiplayer, but next up let's take a look at the controls in-game and how you can win on the hardwood!
